Rally for Life Brisbane

Voters across Queensland are Marching and Rallying for Life. Brisbane, Cairns, Toowoomba and Mackay so far.

We rally specifically against the LATE-TERM ABORTION BILL. The Bill would legalise late-term abortion through to full -term for "social reasons". It would also allow sex-selection abortion. Polling shows that voters oppose these changes. The parliamentary vote is in mid-October, we must urgently stand up for life at this time!

PAST PROTESTS:

TOOWOOMBA

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk was governing from Toowoomba for a week and so a rally was planned:

When: Wednesday 26th September 2018
Time: 12 noon.
Where: Outside City Hall - 543 Ruthven St Toowoomba

For those outside Toowoomba, the drive from somewhere like Toowong in Brisbane is just 1.5 hrs. So you may like to make a day trip of it and drive up with some friends or family. It is a rare opportunity to be there while the Premier is in town. The Rally also coincides with the annual Carnival of Flowers when hundreds of thousands of people from across the State will be in the city. With the vote on this late-term abortion Bill scheduled for just under 5 weeks, time is short!

We marched in Brisbane on SATURDAY 1st September 2018

WHEN: 2 pm 1st September 2018

WHERE: Queens Gardens, cnr George, Elizabeth and William Streets in the Brisbane CBD.

We marched through the city and onwards to Speaker’s Corner outside Parliament House  where there was a brief rally. Speakers included LNP Senator for Queensland Amanda Stoker, medical experts and those with first-hand experience of the abortion industry

Labor’s proposed
LATE-TERM ABORTION BILL

On 16 July, the Queensland Labor Government announced an EXTREME and BRUTAL Bill, the Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2018, which would LEGALISE ABORTION TO BIRTH. With the debate on the Bill scheduled for 16 October, it is imperative that Queenslanders urge their MPs to vote No.

1 Abortion for any reason to 22 weeks gestation.

2 Abortion from 22 weeks to birth, under a wide range of criteria including “social” reasons.

3 Sex-selective abortion.

4 No safeguards for women considering abortion - no independent counselling, informed consent conditions or cooling-off period.

5 Abortions to be done in public hospitals for free.

6 Doctors with conscientious objections must refer for abortion.

7 150 metre exclusion zone around abortion clinics.
